Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, both lawyers. The couple relocated to Oxfordshire in the year she turned five years old and attended at the Dragon School. Emma decided to be an actor by the age of six. For several years she was enrolled in the Oxford branch Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. She learned to sing dance, acting and singing. From the age of 10 she was involved and performed the main role in numerous Stagecoach Productions and School Plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the movie adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel began casting in 1999. Emma was discovered by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint following auditions for 8 times. They were selected as the 3 leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's first cinematic appearance was in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. The highest-grossing movie of 2001 The film broke records in its first day sales as well as opening weekend takings. It was highly acclaimed by critics, as were the performance of three young actors. The Daily Telegraph, a popular British newspaper, was awed by her for her outstanding performance. Emma later won five awards in recognition of her work in the film.
